VEHICLE CODE SECTION 13559 GIVES CITIZENS THE RIGHT TO APPEAL DECISIONS OF THE DMV TO A JUDGE OF THE SUPERIOR COURT, WITH THE RIGHT TO APPEAL ALL THE WAY TO THE SUPREME COURT. THESE ARE SPECIALIZED PROCEEDINGS AND VERY FEW ATTORNEYS HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THESE APPEALS. SINCE THE INTRODUCTION OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE SUSPENSION LAW, OUR OFFICE HAS FILED NUMEROUS APPEALS AGAINST THE DMV AND HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN THE MAJORITY OF THOSE APPEALS. IN EACH AND EVERY SUCCESSFUL APPEAL, THE DMV HAS BEEN ORDERED TO PAY COSTS. IN SOME OF THOSE CASES, THE DMV HAS BEEN ORDERED TO PAY ATTORNEY'S FEES IN ADDITION TO COSTS.
