Forensic Scientist
Email: ron@simonslaw.com
Education - B.S., Biology, University of California, Riverside, 1988.
- J.D., Magna Cum Laude, Western State University, College of Law, 2003.
One of the reasons the Law Office of Barry T. Simons is the best
criminal defense firm in the County of Orange is the addition of
forensic scientist, Ronald Moore. Mr. Moore is not only a forensic
scientist. Mr. Moore's unique
training in the area of forensic science makes him an asset to our
firm's ability to represent those charged with all types of crimes.
Mr. Moore was employed with the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner,
Forensic Science Services in Orange County, California from
1989-to-2007. Mr. Moore started his career with the Orange County Crime
Laboratory as a Criminalist, during which time he received specific
training in instrumental methods of drug analysis, blood alcohol
analyses, and the repair and maintenance of the Intoxilyzer 5000, the
breath test device used at the time.
Between 1991 and 1993 Mr. Moore served as a Senior Criminalist, and
the Breath Alcohol section coordinator and between 1993-and-1995, Mr.
Moore served as a Forensic Scientist III and Senior Criminalist of the
Firearms Examination / Controlled Substances / Crime Scene
Investigation Sections. During this time, Mr. Moore was responsible for
the identification of controlled substances and the identification,
collection, and preservation of evidence at the scene of crimes. Mr.
Moore also assisted in the development of the blood alcohol capillary
column gas chromatography method and the breath alcohol training
program. Between 1995-and-2002, Mr. Moore served as a Forensic
Scientist III, Firearms and Toolmarks / Crime Scene Investigation
Sections and a Firearms Examiner.
In 2003, Mr. Moore returned to the Forensic Alcohol Section of the
Orange County Crime Laboratory as a Forensic Scientist III, Forensic
Alcohol Section and Intern Advisor. By 2005, Mr. Moore became the
Senior Forensic Scientist and Supervisor of the Forensic Alcohol
Section. Mr. Moore's responsibilities included Personnel Management,
Government Grant Administration, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Laboratory
Tours. Mr. Moore remained in this position until he decided to join the
Law Office of Barry T. Simons.
Since Mr. Moore joined the Law Office of Barry T. Simons he has been
critical in our ability to analyze cases in the manner in which the
government prepares their own. This serves as a distinct advantage in
the area of criminal defense as most criminal defense firms do not know
or understand the science as it is often an area of study in which many
attorneys are not trained, and thus have little-to-no experience. Mr.
Moore's unique ability to be able to look at a criminal case from the
government's perspective helps our firm anticipate the arguments the
District Attorney's Office will put forth in their case against you.
